This weekend I am experimenting with axial illumination with an iPad to capture toning of the coins. I picked out a random penny that was toned and took pics. On on the reverse is that a struck through die fill or just wear on th coin?

More of the metal is needed to fill Abe's bust therefore the reverse area is weakly struck up...we see this often
