Hi everybody, I'm back again to see what u guys think!! Lol I have a 1957 D Penny not sure f it's a mint error or if it's PMD, I believe that's what it's called. I'm leaning towards the PMD cause that seems to always be my luck but hoping to here something different from someone else!! Either way, I would like to thank whomever in advance for your time!!
Thank you again,
Heather

Thank you, I am definitely trying but the one area that seems to be stumping me is the Doubling. I can see a picture of a coin & think we'll I don't see any doubling & under the post the guy will be congratulated for finding another dd penny or whatever coin it was. Do you know a particular website that could help me get a better grasp on doubling!? But thank you for your time looking at my penny, I really appreciate any & all advice!!

Heather, Yes, this is PMD. The next goal is to teach you how to identify PMD yourself rather than to guess at it. The easiest way to imagine how the post mint damage (keyword: Damage) occurred. Your cent looks as if it was dropped on the ground and was kicked around for a bit. Damage is various sizes and styles, dents and marks. There is not a process at the mint that would produce this damage. I suggest you watch a video of how coins are made to acquaint yourself with the process.

For Doubled Die coins, I suggest you look at as many doubled die coins as you can to become familiar with them. Search on the tern in the search box at the top of every CCF page (the first few are ads, but then you'll get into older posting that will help you identify doubled die coins. Spend some time looking and you'll learn what features to observe.

Stick with it, you'll get there! Hope this helps! -Leslie
