Ethiopia - 25 Cents - 1936 KM#36
I love the relief of the rim on this one. Don't think I have seen a good picture of this exact coin

there's a possibility it was struck at the Philly mint. 25 cents (easily determined by the rim edging) KM#36 dated 1944, struck from 1944-1975 minted in Philadelphia USA, Birmingham UK and The Royal Mint in London.

The Lion of Judah was used on the coinage of all emperors of Ethiopia since they began making Western-style coinage in the 1800's. But in this case you are correct; the emperor portrayed here is indeed Haile Selassie, the last emperor.
As GO said, the coin is dated "1936" in the Ethiopian calendar, which is eight years behind ours; "1936 EE" translates to 1944 AD. However, as kuhli stated, these coins continued to be struck afterwards, with the date "frozen" at 1936.
