'Buy the coin(s), not the holder'
Very impressive, due to the nice display.
Very true, but in this case, I would like to value the holder separately, which could be quite high, if they happen to be scarce.

Be careful though - the total individual value of the individual coins should also be accurately known, to the buyer's satisfaction.

I guess when that holder was manufactured, clad coins were referred to as "sandwich" coins.

I didn't notice until you pointed it out, like "Turban Head" I think that description is best left in the past

And how about the classic Indian Head nickels?

I am old enough to remember the term "Sandwich Coins" which is what the new clad coins were introduced as on the news (ABC NBC and CBS) prior to the release in 1964 and 1965. We were all so excited about the new coins. (silly huh?)
I would suspect that this holder is probably from that time or very shortly thereafter.
I think there might be enough in coins to equal perhaps $80+ in value but I can't see the dates.
The holder seems kind of scarce but if you get it, you might as well get some replacement plastic screws and they can be had.
If it isn't scratched, cracked or scuffed, it might be worth getting for the additional $45 value.
This is a unusual case of buying the holder and not the coin.

Look at this listing I have nothing to do with here 123943773586 and I am not saying it is a fair price or not but two sold for $153.50 out of three available?

I would have to guess that the holder was manufactured in the mid- to late 1960s based on the selection and verbiage. May be difficult to source another one?

Those coins could possibly all be found in change at the time (excepting the silver dollars perhaps.) Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like a good win. Nice coins and a holder you want.
