Hello all, not much happening on the forum. So I thought to re-post an item I posted some time ago. However, this time with a question of value, as I am thinking of maybe having it graded and then sell it. What do you guys think this coin is worth, realistically? Thank you for your valued opinion. Happy Holidays... stay safe! H

Two small problems, it"s a dime, and 180 is perfect, maybe 200 bucks on a really good day, but still cool !

John, why are these problems? DR is considerably more than 180.

Dimes are the least collected, and seems like a 180, 90, or 45 degrees is what collectors go for. if this was a dollar or toonie, it would go for goofy money, even a penny would attract more value.

Weren't pre-68 10 cents struck in both medal and coinage? I couldn't even guess as to value or grade

Around 1908, Canada"s coins were struck medal axis, a full 180 rotated coin is quite rare, I have seen only one 50 cent piece. 1967 upset die dollar, auction every so often for well over 10K, recently a 1967 5 cent version sold for close to 5000, and a 67 penny sold at Legacy sale for if I remember correctly over 3000

Quote: John, why are these problems? DR is considerably more than 180. The anvil die is fixed in place, it is usually the hammer die that rotates. I see maybe a 110 degree die rotation. Given the condition, it might be worth $120 - there is not much love out there for 10c errors.

well, fellows, this is all new to me and very interesting. I admit I never checked Charltons info. I guess the key would be now to positively know which of the 2 types this is. Is there any way to know? But in any case, an excellent investment for $1 at the time. thanks for the explanations and education. Coin might be 4 sale if anyone is interested.
