to the CCF.

Probably an Australian Penny or Halfpenny depending on it's size. Penny 30.8m diameter, Halfpenny 25.4 mm diameter.

Unfortunately not worth anything - reverse has been machined off.

Yes, Australian seems most likely although the Canadian Cent and the Indian Half Anna are also similar. May be others!

There is one specific value for this - as a Shove-halfpenny coin. This traditional English pub game required 5 halfpennies per player and a suitable wooden or slate board - I am sure wiki will give you more. Many players had sets of halfpennies with the reverse ground flat to make them glide more readily. Style also suggested that getting unusual coins to play with, provided they were still the same size, might impress your mates!

Agree with Paddy B.

Also more remote possibilities, Ceylon cent, Mauritian cent or a Newfoundland cent, South African Penny or Halfpenny, Jersey Penny or half.
But definitely not British, as their coins had an uncrowned effigy of King George V and all you saw his head and neck. the crown and gowm means its a colonial coin for a colony that started issuing before 1932 (So not NZ, S. Rhodesia or Fiji)
