The US side of the wooden nickel is generic. My guess is that to save money, the legion just had the printing done on one side.

It seems as though most of these have the generic side without the USA designation, but perhaps contact someone with CAWMC (Canadian Association of Wooden Money Collectors) to see if they're aware of this version. There's a good chance they'll know how many were produced if it's listed in the main catalogue.

Thanks guys .Nice addition to the collection either way ,only paid pennies for it .Bought it more out of curiosity than anything but nice to have a story to go with it .
