I've been reading about the 58 and 59 black beauty nickel well I ran across this actually several 1963 philly mint sets and there is definitely something going on I'll post a couple pictures and let you call it in person it has a bluish black color to it like gun barrel bluing it still in the wrapper until someone says grade it thanks for looking

That's intriguing, but it's hard to say from the pics. Proof nickels can develop some interesting toning, commonly including shades of blue, so I have always been hesitant to label any proofs as "black beauties."

First it is a proof nickel , not a mint set nickel.
Second it is a toned nickel , which by the way
is very common .
Never did get all this black beauty stuff , simply
toned coins from a minor annealing problem .
Third never seen anyone in my 40 plus years
ever really pay up for one .
Rest in Peace

I would really like to see that coin out of it's wrapper . By the way you are describing it it sure looks and sounds like a Black Beauty . Although I've never seen a 1963 BB . I've seen rolls of 1959-P and heard of a couple of other Philly dates .

Leaving these in the mint cellos can turn the coin different colors:

Some are annealed to long and turn dark in color:

These are MS-examples, all found in a roll.
