finally digging up my old coin collection. Pretty decent really. I'm trying to get an insured value of them and this one penny could be worth a great deal more but there is nothing I could find to get me close.

to CCF. Going by that photo,it looks like a Dryer Coin. Need to post a full coin photo of the obverse and a full coin photo of the reverse and one or two close ups when needed.

I totally agree with John1.

Dryer Coins are damaged by tumbling in a dryer or details are smeared by the rotating action of the drum. the longer it has been exposed to that situation the more "melted" the details become.

Would like to see close-in photos--obverse and reverse--taken outside of the 2x2.

to the CCF!

The wrapped rims and flattened details are clues that this coin is showing Post Mint Damage. There's no telling how long the coin tumbled around to get to this condition. It does have an interesting look, but no value over face.

I too would like to see the obverse image. When you post coins for opinions it's best to show both sides, cropped and in the correct orientation. It makes it easier for the members of Coin Community to study the images and lets us give you better answers.

You guys have better eyes than I do. I just see a dark, vague image.

I agree, post mint damage. Sorry, not a "mint error" that you can insure, just a damaged coin.

As others have suggested, in the future we need much better photos, and certainly outside of 2x2s.
