Wouldn't be classed as a mint error, it would be a faulty planchet
as it happened before the coin was struck.
Great pictures by the way. Nice to be able to see the details without a lot of glare.

Yes, nice lamination features. Appears the coin may have been exposed to a mildly corrosive environment too.
