I have found a 1952 d steel Lincoln Penny .it's in good to fine shape but it's steel. I'm having trouble trying to load image now but will keep trying .is there a reason for this coin? It doesn't appear to be coated because all of the print is in stampable condition.ie no metal in the mint mark or residue of molten steel on coin.

Was a common High School science project in the 50s and 60s to plate a penny. You can discover them plated in Zinc, Nickel, Tin, Brass and even Mercury amongst others.
Check out my counterstamped Lincoln Cent collection:

Could be plated with nickel - nickel is magnetic. No, not worth anything except 1¢ but fun to keep as a novelty coin.

EDIT: I shouldn't say only worth 1¢c as there is always an exception it could sell for a small premium if you wanted to sell it

Weight? 3.11 grams copper plated with steel. 7.0 grams is a steel cent.
