I can't find another like this anywhere and I just wanted some more experienced eyes on. Thanks on advance! Cheers! PS- I already purchased it from ebay just waiting on it to arrive. I've emailed the Vatican Archives also but the time difference is an issue. Their online catalog did not have it, thus the slight concern...however I do understand most items of significance are in private hands. Edited by JackDaniels 01/11/2021 6:22 pm

Hi! Thank you for your response! As soon as it arrives I can get the weight and dimensions. The double stamped R intrigues me as well as what appears to be clipping from the bottom, but again once it's in my hands I can better observe and provide specs. Cheers!

Hi! Thanks for the link! I pasted the relevant section for reference purposes. I think you nailed it! I really appreciate that! Now I just need to decide if I send this coin in with the 44 '61-'63 Mint sets in cellophane to be graded or not...open to suggestions. Thank you for locating that! Cheers to good health!

Hi! I actually paid $150 Shipped and taxes included, so probably $135 for the coin itself. It was listed much higher but it was something that interested me and I thought it would make a nice addition to my European collection. I felt that it was a good value for the amount of detail and visibility of the date. Thank you for the feedback! Cheers!

I think it's a fair price, but I am not sure why you would have it graded. Should you decide to sell it, the market would probably be small, and uninterested in paying a premium for a professional grade. Though the appetite for graded European coins from earlier eras seems to be increasing, so my opinion may be off the mark in the future. Just the opinion of a collector who is biased toward spending money on more coins, not grading Quote: The double stamped R intrigues me There are lots of neat things like this on coins from this era, but they are common and do not add any commercial value, even if they DO add to a collector's personal enjoyment of their coins!

Thank you for the advice! I've been collecting for 25 years and I still love it! & My wife and I are buying a place in France so I have been exponentially increasing my collections. Being several years from the big 4-0 I want to be sure to have something to keep liquidity and something to do in addition to cars, watches and bullion.

Quote: My wife and I are buying a place in France Congrats! Ou exactement? If that were me, it would leave me LESS funding for coins, not more. You are very fortunate indeed!

We spent 2019/2020 in Paris but 2020 was supposed to be the year to home search. Currently either an hour outside Paris or the Perpignan area (50 kilometers range). We've looked around Monaco but it's just so overvalued per m2. Southwest keeps us connected and be near multiple F1 tracks
I'll post some other coins in the appropriate sections.

Quote: either an hour outside Paris or the Perpignan area Well, that's like saying Westchester county or Wisconsin I would take Perpignan in a minute, but I'm not an F1 guy.
