I'm thinking this is a totally peeled away LAM, but just thought I'd post in case it is a struck thru.

I agree. It looks like struck through debris. The weight should be close to normal. If the weight is under, then I would think it is a lamination. But I'm leaning towards my first suggestion.

I'm in the struck thru column. Unless that lamination peel area has been worn down over the years.

Thanks everyone. I don't find enough large strike thru coins to think about weighing it. Luckily I recently got a precision scale and the weight is 3.126g. Weighed a few other BU wheat cents at 3 grams to make sure scale set up right.

So I think Strike thru is correct. Keith12, if it was hit by enough force to drive a coin edge that far in, wouldn't there be a bent/damage on the reverse? Reverse looks OK to me in hand.
