Hey Guys and Gals,

Check out this crazy Jefferson nickel with a ton of errors. It appears that the "N" and the "I" are missing in Monticello. And the second "L" in Monticello seems to be doubled. Also, on the roof, on the left side, there seems to be some extra bump.

It is in pretty bad condition. Do you think it worth getting graded?

Not seeing the "ton of errors" you apparently see. Might be a slight misaligned die, but otherwise, just a heavily worn coin, and no, not worth grading, sorry.

to the CCF! We look forward to seeing other coins you might have questions about!

@big, first welcome to CCF. Second, consider not being quite so defensive right out of the gate with your responses. Plenty of folks will be weighing in throughout the evening, and @merclover is one of the best at discerning what happened.

I'm seeing a coin with tons of circulation wear. Several letters might be lightly struck as you note, but it will be impossible to know for sure whether they were just preferentially removed over the past 80 years of being used. However, I am interested in the linear feature on the obv that goes from the first T of TRUST to the E of LIBERTY. That might be a rim to rim die crack, which would be pretty special.

Seeing a nice worn coin probably went thru a number of coin counting machines since 1940.

absolutely not. It's a common, worn nickel, and what may or may not be errors add nothing to the value of 5¢

I see one probable error/variety on this coin, and that's the die crack that Spence pointed out. The weak letters could be from uneven wear, uneven strike, or possibly a minor grease-filled die, but even if you could figure out which it was, this coin would not be worth grading.
