Picked this up off ebay for around $7. I think this is a fantastic RPM, and paired with a DDO? I couldn't pass it up, especially in MS. Anyone know how rare this variety is? I figure it might be pretty scarce.

Thank you! I think it's one that should be in the Cherrypicker guide.

Look at the "magnified RPM" images for stage A and B. Back when I was doing a bunch with 1970-D I found one of each of these, and noticed that they do not look alike. I remain convinced that both the shape of the MM and the shape of the secondary mark are not the same. Something for the new Wexler RPM attributor to take up!

Oh yeah, also note that stage A is NOT a DDO while stage B is, which really shouldn't be possible if the same die.

You're so right! I didn't see that. The mint marks have completely different shapes. Stage A does indeed seem to be missing the DDO, I can't believe I missed that. Interesting, thanks for sharing TB, I never would've seen any of that!

Very nice! I think tropicalbats is correct. Stage A and Stage B show two different varieties. Yours has the DDO and the RPM so I think you got the better of the two! Great pickup!

You're right TB, it looks like 2 different RPMs. Stage A doesn't show the DDO either. They are slightly different
