I'm trying to figure out which Canadian pennies from 2004-2012 are worth hunting for (i.e. worth more than 0.01). Here's the list I put together. Is this right? Am I missing any? 2012 magnetic 2011 magnetic 2009 RCM non magnetic 2007 non magnetic 2006 magnetic (no P or RCM) 2006 P (magnetic or non magnetic) 2006 RCM - magnetic 2005 P (magnetic or non magnetic) 2004 P

Thanks Wade. I did review that but still found it confusing. For example, it doesn't have any prices listed for 2006 RCM Magnetic which I saw elsewhere is relatively rare. I was hoping someone with more intimate knowledge of this could help clarify if I'm looking at this right. Thanks

Canadianpennyman, When it comes to Coins and Canada they can get somewhat confusing to say the least. When looking at the page for 1 cent coins with the 2003 to 2012 range you will notice the only ones showing a price are the 2006 - Magnetic and 2006 P - Non Magnentic. This is because from the AG-3 to AU-50 grade are the only ones from 2003 to 2012 worth any kind of premium. Now, if you click the "Uncirculated" tab on the top of the page, found beside "Circulated, Unciruclated, PL and SP" you will notice that the prices for ALL the coins from 2003 to 2012 will now show the average prices for every year in "MS-60 to MS-67". Now to answer you question regarding which ones you want to look for from 2006 are.. 2006 - No P, No RCM Logo - Magnetic (not suppose to be magnetic) 2006 - P - Non Magnetic (suppose to be magnetic)

as John said, it is a bit confusing because they don't show values for coins unless they are worth more than face value (would be easier if they listed face value instead of "-")

I think your list looks pretty decent. I also agree with wade and John. Those are the two hardest ones to get. 2006P non magnetic being top dog.

To be more clear for you. I am late to explain. All the others give right answer. How to look. 2006 magnetic with RCM logo (136 mill) strike. 2006 without RCM logo (222) strike which was a error.

You might want to add the PL section in your hunt on Coins Canada site for sought after Canadian cents the 2003 old effigy-P non magnetic + 2005-P non magnetic

I agree with Papel, I would also add those dates. However I question the 1 cent 2004p as above face. Looks like they minted 134,906,000.

And to complete papeldog; Do not forgot that the prices on different sites and Charlton are for certified coins.
So if you at first see a penny is 35 $, and you have to send to certification and sell with catalog price you are in negative accounting. This thing with certification it is only Bob Dealen 's song " Blowing in the wind".
I am collector and never buy the slab, I buy the coin, the note or the stamp. What say on the slab I do not needed look at.
Good luck, remember that in business strike are very. very few rarity to find.
