Same as page 337 in the 2011 Charlton. Question: the pricing for this variety was 10x in 2011, is it still 10x today?

They don't have a repunched 9 listed. They only have a triple punched 9. It's much more than 10x. Other years have repunched but not 1893.

The 1893 repunched large cents have been discussed more than a few times on this site. Do an archive search and you will get some good info. I do not know where the "ID insert" above comes from ... Charlton, Trends, Haxby?

When the 5 of us wrote the Vicky large cent variety section for the 2011 (65th edition) Charlton guide, we could only include 2 of 5 types of repunched 9's for that year.... the T/P'd one and the just R/P'd one. Because we were restricted to only 80 pages for the book, we had to leave some very good varieties out, and there could have been 3 more really nicely offset 9's that never appeared. Some of those found to APPEAR to be T/P'd are actually quad-punched. Gene, yes your coin is the one on P337 and I would think that it would be 10X or even greater, the triple worth much more and quad more. For those of you into varieties, there are some very nice R/P'd 3's for that year as well, some just the 3, while others are on strikes with R/P'd 9's. It's a great year to collect.

The prices in the 2011 Charlton have all held well and many increased when Charlton, and later Trends, started listing more varieties. The prices that we assigned the varieties in the 2011 Variety section were copied directly from there into the front section of Charlton and Trends listing. Here are some very old microscope shots of some of the '93 manually repunched 9's. The last one (or the 1st, depending on how the photos show up) is a quad or triple-punched '93 that also shows repunching in the gap between the upper and lower parts of the 9, just like 1859/8 coins show .. the only one I've ever found like it.
