I am building a PCGS certified 1922 Peace dollar grading set and some of the lower grades have been a challenge. I thought some of you might enjoy grading this coin and taking a guess at where ICG and PCGS respectively graded this coin as well. I purchased it in an ICG holder and sent it to PCGS as a RAW submission.
Seems like lower-grade Peace dollars get no respect and there's not much interest in being precise about the grades. This coin has strong central obverse detail and solid rims. The eagle is nearly worn smooth across the wings and body. I'd venture a VF-25 grade overall.
The grading set sounds like a cool idea! What grading numbers are you using...? All 30 of them (28)? I could see what you mean about it being a challenge in lower grades...probably lots of detailed coins to sort through. Hope you share it with us soon. VF25 on this one for me. smat

Yes, the very lowest grades were not too difficult. It's the F-15 to VF-25 range I'm having a difficulty with. My goal is one for every numeric grade and additionally + grades for the MS coins. I probably won't ever add a 67 though. Those hammer a little too high to suit me for a common date Peace dollar. The grading set is here:
