I found this Jefferson nickel. I'm new to this coin collecting. Could anyone tell me what may have caused this? Lamination error?

to CCF. Not a lamination error because nickels are 75% copper and 25% nickel. Looks like environmental damage, like a car cup holder coin.

As stated, just environmental damage.
No extra value above face.

Thanks. Concludes that question. As a newbie to coin collecting I'm sure I'll have many more questions.
