So I "think" I found a 1969-D Kennedy half dollar DDO. I don't want to waste your time or mine. Posting pictures isn't the easiest thing to do here. I don't see much of a listing anywhere for a 69-D DDO. Not here on this forum or ebay. The CherryPickers Guide doesn't even list one... Not even Variety Vista. Has it been established that they "don't" in fact exist?

Wexler doesn't list one either. Probably Machine Doubling if it is on the outside edges of the devices. Note the Machine Doubling reduces the devices even smaller than normal, look flat and caused by the machine. On a doubled die, the devices doubling is on the die.

Probably gonna need the pictures. Otherwise it's just an educated guess.

I'm working on pictures now. I was initially just asking if true 69-D DDO's even exist. I see "what I think" are notches at the top of the U device in TRUST. Plus the R in TRUST and the W in WE. Getting the light and focus right is a bear!!

Looks very possible. (If it is not too minor) You mighty try to get the images to be like "IN GOD' 'WE TRUST' the full devices. That way we can see how minor it is or if it is really as strong as the first images show.

Quote: You mighty try to get the images to be like "IN GOD' 'WE TRUST' the full devices. I already tried that. I had it under the scope, you can't see it. The lighting has to be at the exact right angle to see it. You can't see it with the camera directly over the devices. It's even difficult to see it in-hand with a 16x loupe.

So it might be too minor to be listed. A buyer for these will only be interested if they can be seen with a 10X loupe.

Okay, thanks coop! I'll be looking for the next ANACS special. I might throw this one in with the lot just for the heck of it.

When James Wiles use to control the CONECA Master Listings on Variety Vista, he had listed a 69D MDO-001 (Master Die) with a description, "Medium spread on LI, with notched corners on I of LIBERTY and IN GOD, and light triple on earlier hub states of WE TRUST, 69 of date, hair under R and Y of LIBERTY". Now that CONECA took over the Master Listings from Wiles no one can view them. Your half may be Master Die Doubling.
