1943 One Franc Coin With Liberte-Egalite-Fraternite On Reverse

Hd2cc7 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 01/26/2021 5:38 pm My Dad passed away several years ago and left behind a few assorted French and Belgian coins. They are from the War years and I assume he brought them back from his service in Europe in WW2 (he was a paratrooper in 1944-45). They are all quite worn. One of them looked unusual and I would be interested in any opinions on whether it has any value. I am not sure of its weight or if it is zinc or aluminum. I am attaching several pictures. My wife's father also served in NW Europe in 1944-45. The coins he passed down were Belgian, Netherlands and Germany with dates up to 1944. Except for some Netherlands coins from 1948. It turned out he had fallen in love with a young Dutch woman, and returned to the Netherlands in 1948, but returned home still single (to later marry my wife's mother). Report this Post to the Staff
