Does the coin have a mint mark below the date?

First, get clear pics of the area in question and rotated in the right direction. Your first pic, I dont see any doubling and the 2nd pic, I have no clue what its a picture of.

I would start here: http://goccf.com/t/5450

Then come back and edit the post

Machine Doubling affects the outside edge of a coin. So yours is not Machine Doubling. Depending on the tops of the devices, if they have contact on the tops, then you will see a flat spot on the devices. But if the devices are enlarged in the centers, then it might be a doubled die. We need more images to see what you have.

Here are a few attributed doubled dies images from coppercoins:
1983P-1DO-001

First thing to look for on a doubled die listings, is what devices are affected: Note on the line blow the listing:

Quote:
A nice CW spread pivoted from K-5 shows nicely in LIBERTY and IN GOD WE. A lighter spread is visible in TRUST and the date. Old FS#035
(added by coop, these are the white letters on the listing)

That tells us what is hub doubled on this die. Note that the Date is not listed as hub doubling. But other devices are. So in order for your coin to match this listing, the hub doubling will have to match the other devices first. If not a match, it might be a different die listing. So you need to check other listings.

How about overall photos of the entire coin (both sides), please? Overall shots should always be included. Where exactly do you see doubling? Please show us, thanks.

to the CCF!
