So I took a shot at a lot of coins which looked to be genuine from the photos. The seller sells anything and everything from estate sales. This was from one lot. I posted one denarius earlier which turned out to be a cast.

I might find redemption in this denarius, which I'm leaning towards authentic with brittleness or crystallization. Thoughts on this one are appreciated. In any case, on the fence on returning for refund.

Not an expert, the coin looks genuine but is suffering from environmental damage.

Every opinion is appreciated, that's how we learn. Sometimes, we are apprehensive to give judgements on difficult coins in case we are wrong. But I'd rather hear what everyone has to say. I found a coin with signs of wear in the same areas, which is encouraging.

Got a new toy in today and didn't expect much at only $15 for a digital microscope. I wanted to examine in extreme close up what a fake would look like.

This is a known fake I have of a Clodius Albinus Denarius. Look at the soft details and visible sand casting bumps not noticeably visible to the naked eye.

Now this Mark Antony, very crisp details and no signs of casting. The environmental damage is also cleary visible, which IMHO that would be hard to fake. In fact, I've never seen an environmental damaged fake.

I'm now 90% that this one is the real thing.
