Looking at PCGS images, it seems most (if not all) 1970-D half dollars have this extra thickness on WE TRUST: https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/coin.../images/6713

So I agree, MDO-001 makes sense.

BTW I have the entire CONECA master listings saved (Last save I have is from March 30, 2020). If anyone needs any info from there shoot me a message.

Thanks Tanman, that's a big help.
Question: Since there are notches more apparent on this one, is it safe to assume it's from an earlier die state?

It could be early in the life of the master die but not necessarily the working die.
