Ladies, Gentlemen, Collectors and Dealers, and those who wish to become such.

This subject has been at least mentioned conservatively "a few" times.
However, some of you still do not care, even though they want only the best our top grading experts can give you. All for free!
So please, take the extra minute and remove the coin from the 2X2 or/and other plastic not sealed envelopes or pouches etc. BEFORE you take pictures!
Then show the pictures as sharp and clear as you can, filling out the frame...and, BOTH sides. Also make sure the images are "up-Down and not angled!
if you do this, the CCF graders are a much happier bunch!
I do understand it is difficult taking images through ICCS and CCCS Flips. But the... these are already graded.

@47P7 It would be helpful if you also mentioned something like

"we recognize that it is not always possible to do so because you do not have the coin in your possecison"

To write that people "do not care" is a somewhat rude assumption to make in my opinion.

I agree that people should take the best pictures they can, but recognize that it is not always possible to do so.

Personally, I think one of the most enjoyable parts of the forum is you vs. ICCS/etc..., it is enjoyable to see how close you come or how far off the group thinks they are. TPG grades are an opinion and I hope people continue to post shots of their ICCS/etc... coins.

Although I somewhat agree, we all have to remember something as simple as a badly cropped and rotated image that would be a big deal to some of us, is not something all new collectors really understand. I'm sure if you taught yourself something completely new to you with hardly any help, your first few days you would make mistakes here and there, and I am sure you would feel a little let down if you were drilled because you did it wrong instead of nicely-being taught how to do it correctly for next time. I have seen many new collectors get shut down and ridiculed (not on the CCF) all because of a photo that just might have been their best effort to take, due to plenty of things like age, shaky hands etc.

On another note though, I personally think that the graders here on CCF should get together and start offering legitimate grading services with die error and variety attribution, just imagine having the CCF logo on a nice slab, I would have all my coins done this way. My personal opinion, id rather have my coins graded by the well known admins/collectors from this group, some of which I know and trust instead of the big guys, not trying to say we should under-cut them as they do serve a purpose regardless.

Im sure actually making something like that happen would need to be thoroughly thought out, but one can still day dream!

What about members who continually ignore the guidelines: Please crop and rotate photos properly before posting?
Please remove coins from holders whenever possible before taking photos? I can't imagine how many times I have typed those words I think there should be step-by-step instruction in the posting photo section as to what to do properly.

John1, I can agree with that. The memebers who SHOULD know better should get some sort of warning or something. But as for new collectors we should be understanding of their questions, not demanding for them to listen, I'm sure it is extremely annoying to repeat yourself to the same people, but for someone who is new, shouldent have to suffer for it.

Make a sticky with the grading rules and I'm sure those who actually take the time to learn the hobby will follow, those who dont are probably just looking to make a quick buck.

@John1, if you you don't like the post, don't comment on the coin.

Maybe you could contact the admins with suggested wording and add it to the "Posting Best Practices" tab content section at the top of any full reply.
