I've always held that you should not clear a coin ever. But several reputable people have argued that removing dirt etc is okay as long as the surface isn;'t modified. Thoughts? TheDeductible Pillar of the Community Canada 851 Posts	Posted 02/02/2021 08:52 am I'd say VF30, with the scratches, marks, and wear in the braid next to the ear holding it back from EF40. The Obverse looks like it could gain from a nonabrasive light cleaning, but don't ask me how to do it. I'm afraid of touching dirt on coins. Once you touch it, it can't be untouched.
