I've read some things on treating bronze disease, but I thought it would be best to consult some experts. Treatments I've read about are temporary..

Some of the crusty coins that I cleaned a few years now definitely have outbreaks of bronze disease.

These are just low grade late Roman bronzes, but if I can save them I will.

Otherwise I will be interested in observing the process of them dissolving.

I've had luck with that method. I saved the info in a word doc and printed the treatment method for future projects.

Would like to add to Travelcoin's good advice.

Here's another article with steps to address bronze disease.

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/n...ze%20Disease

The solution of mixed sodium carbonate (washing soda) with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) in distilled water is easy and inexpensive to make and is a helpful soak to remove green corrosion and stop its progress. The soaking can be done for a few days at room temperature instead of the hot water method described.

Formula for sodium sesquicarbonate solution:
10.6 g of sodium carbonate (washing soda) and 8.4 g of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) dissolved in 100 ml of distilled water
