2001 LMC - Opinions Needed On Scratch/Gouge?

This Coin came in a cello wrap. I initially thought the Coin was scratched through the G & O of GOD. After taking it out of the cello I noticed the scratch did not seem to go over the letters. Just wondering what this could be? Whatever it is seems to end in the middle of the O in GOD. Thanks!

Is the area in question, lower than the fields and devices? If it is raised, then I could see it being a die scratch. But I feel it is not a struck through, as the same mark would occur over the devices incuse. If it were a die crack, it would be raised on the field and show on top, raised on the devices. So I'm not sure what it is so far.
