I see you keep posting them picks TB ..Got this one in the mail today

Finally picked one of these guys!! Basically went off MM position because of the crud
Did a spot treatment to get the crud off and what do ya know?!?!?!? Got it !!
Not bad for a $15 offer
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1911-D-Lin....m2749.l2649
Think Ill do a few more spots to get crud off LIBERTY. Don't want to mess with it too much. The dot by R is barely visible and there is no cracks on the reverse. I thought maybe a very late stage but looks like EDS if I go off Coppercoins.
Not too sure but I finally have one. Too bad it took a hit on the bottom of the MM but I cant complain.
Have one more coming tomorrow from the same seller, hope its a winner too

That is part of a die wear issue I mentioned a while back:
1911-D/D-Lincoln-Cent-FS-503-RPM
The dies wore on the opposite side during the time of the wide rims. Not all examples show this, just the later. It maybe that same die, but note the issue of the die wear.

Not sure what you're trying to explain here coop. I see the die wear in your pictures but what does that have to do with the RPM? What I was saying with the die is it doesn't have the cracks on the reverse like late stages do but the EDS on coppercoins doesn't have the crack either. The die overall looks later than their MDS and LDS but matches the EDS. Maybe they switched out the reverse later on because the cracks and the EDS example on CC is actually the VLDS.

The point of my information is that the die along with the mintmark wear could have altered your Clint. I haven't had time to make a side by side for your coin to see if it is a match. That was the thought I forgot to add to the thread. So when I get time, I'll work on that.

The coin in your pictures isn't RPM-3. I was just sharing my ebay pick of FS-503

Those are really tough to see in most grades, or even on a good coin in an ebay pick. Very, very well done to nail one from ebay. Huge congrats!

Nice pick off a ebay. Sometimes the mint marker is worth taking a risk on if its unique enough. Congrats.

Very nice pick! A tough one to pick out for sure especially with how terrible the dies were during this time.
