Quote: Finally had to say heck with it, had to get back to work. Get an e mail 2 hrs later saying order went thru. I'm ether getting 0, 1, or 87. I'll know when and if I get them. I hope for the middle option! Of course, getting 87 for the price of one is like hitting the lottery. Quote: I got 2 e-mails from the mint yesterday, both at 2:37 PDT. The first was my order conformation e-mail, the second was telling me they can't fulfill the order at this time and to contact customer service within 48 hours or my order would be cancelled... I'll give them a call later this morning and see what's up. Good luck!

Still no confirmation email. I got the email that says processing & it also says processing under orders on the website. Hopefully that means I'm getting one...

Most difficult experience thus far. Took nearly 90 minutes but I wasn't sweating it as I knew others must have been having the same problem since this was a site error rather than an issue on my part.
Crazy how it didn't make me jump through too many bot hoops, it was just the server crashing problems.
At several points it claimed my account was 'locked'! Waited a bit and was able to log in--that was a new one.
Even tried phoning the Mint just in case they had their desk up and taking order. Got the busy signal each time I tried.
I have to say I was annoyed with all this the first couple of times but I'm starting to like it more.
One, it can only help the value of these collectibles and we all know we are paying well over spot prices. Yes, I collect coins as a hobby but I wont be upset if it appreciates in value.
Two, I like the comradery it builds among collectors. Love getting on and reading the 'war stories' on here after a high demand release.

Whew... this has been a crazy three months for ASE's, Morgan's and the Peace dollar. I will need to set-up a paycheck allotment to the Mint!

I finally got my email order confirmation about 6 hours after the order was placed yesterday afternoon(no visible charge yet on my Amex card - just a lower available balance by what looks like the right amount when you convert from dollars to UK pounds). Only will believe I am getting the set once I can see on tracking that it was been sent to my mom in Rhode Island.
Order does say processing on the web site.

Quote: ...on my Amex card... I'm not sure about the UK, but here in the US Amex treats precious metal coin purchases as a cash advance. You may be up for a surprise...!

Quote: Do they actually charge that much for the membership fee in the USA? My card over here is free. The Platinum card, yes. It has a lot of perks to offset the fee, mostly if you travel. Not sure what perks they offer in the UK version, but you get $200 in Uber/Hotel/Flight credits each ($600 total) and unlimited access to their private airport lounges if you fly among other perks. I know a couple people that have it, one has the corporate card version from their company so they don't get the fee, another uses it for their business expenses (he travels a lot) and includes the fee in their expenses. If you travel A LOT, you'll get that fee back, but may consider other options if you're not a big traveler.

I just got off the phone with the mint customer service. I had a problem with my cc (wrong expiration date) that they fixed so my order went through. Now the good part, they told me that orders are going to begin to ship tomorrow!

Quote: Now the good part, they told me that orders are going to begin to ship tomorrow! I wonder what kind of operation the Mint employs for a release of this magnitude. Since it was a HHL of 1 I wonder if they pre-package all 125K units and just start slapping shipping labels once orders are confirmed? Judging by the way I've received some of their packages I assume it's just go, go go and little to no attention to QC.
