1943 newfoundland 1 cent One side looks lacquered. Could that be or is it some sort of natural thing happening.

VF attributes on the Obverse (maybe even EF-40), but the reverse side is gooey from what looks to be a delaminated and flawed planchet. I have no idea how to grade the Reverse side.

I'd use some acetone to clean the goop off. As long as you are out and about getting the acetone, you should try to get a good grading guide or spend some time researching the ones that are widely available on the net. Are you trying to get other folks to grade every coin that you have? Most people don't mind, but you have 8 or more "asks" just on this first page of the subforum.

I ask out of respect As you are listed as a ling time member of this community and I am new, Please help me out with the guidelines . The Forum is called Canadian Coin Grading . What kind of postings are expected. All I have read were members asking for input. I thought that is what was expected.

Dekatron, that's true, but one day we all need to learn to grade coins ourselves. If you get a guide and learn how wear affects the grade of a coin, you will be able to grade a coin in less the a minute, compared to waiting hours for one of the forum members to input their opinion.

Dekatron, posting your coins for others to help grade them is what this part of the forum is for. Some people here are quite rude and you should take their advice with a grain of salt. If any one has a problem seeing your posts or seeing anyone else's posts, they should remove themselves from the forum. Why bother to even look at the postings if you're going to have an attitude?! I seriously don't get some people. Like what is the problem? I've been on this site for a few years now and its mind boggling how rude some of the members can be. There's just no need. I am no longer going to ignore the remarks of some and I'll be calling anyone out for rudeness from here on. I'm tired of seeing it.
You are new to the trade and seeking advice. There is nothing wrong with that!
I'm not the boss here, but this site, and anywhere else for that matter, is no place for bullying.
Please continue to post what you would like others opinions on.

TheDeductible, I'm sorry if you think I was being rude, I wasn't trying to sound that way. I was just trying to give some advice because when I started I couldn't tell the difference between a VF nickel and an UNC nickel, but once I started learning it really made the collecting experience more fun.

decatron . .. I'm sorry that the tone of my words may have lost something from my grey matter to my typing keys. I was merely suggesting that you should try to get or obtain a grading guide to personally see what you had with your own eyes before here. You posted 9 coin grading requests in an hour or so on the same day. This IS a grading forum and you will always get answers to your questions and is an excellent learning tool. Learning to correctly grade is long-term endeavor. Try to learn the keys to ID'ing your prime denominations/monarchs in your collecting experience and people here will help you out.

Well , Those are in face some very interesting , helpfully, and respectful comments.
Now comes the kicker. I started collecting many years ago when my Farther, a respected member of the Numismatic Society in Montreal, passed away (20+ yeas ago).
My father believed, as do I that the enjoyment of looking at a coin is the appreciation of design, the art and execution of the strike. The fun is in the hunt to find a coin that was in circulation yet maintained condition beyond expectation. It has nothing to do with value.
Anyone can buy a nice coin. To collect circulated coins and spend the time to appreciate how many or few hands it has been through, I find most interesting. If it is UNC or better, think of how that could be.
I have graded all my coins and have had some graded. G,VG,F,VF,EF ,UNC These were the only choices when I started. (yes , that makes me old)
