Dear fellow coin-lovers,

I found a coin in my collection, which seems to have an production error. I realized this earlier, but never thought about it.

It is an 1/2 Nim Rial (Nim means half in persian) from PERSIA / IRAN Reza Shah PAHLAVI 1315 (which equals to 1936), it is silver.

I wonder if any of you can help me estimating the value of this beauty.
Here is an original picture, shot today (sorry if the quality is not appropiate to standards):

Error:-Iran,-Pahlavi:-1936-Reza-Shah-Silver-1/2-Nim-Rial-Sh-1315-/-Failure

Here you can see how the coin looks like in normal shape:

Error:-Iran,-Pahlavi:-1936-Reza-Shah-Silver-1/2-Nim-Rial-Sh-1315-/-Failure
(I googled the second picture, it is not mine)

Looking forward to read your opinions about it!

Regards,
ovovo

2nd picture shows genuine and very obvious planchet clip error.
Authenticity proven by evidence of Blakesley effect, which shows thinner rim on opposite end of the diameter through the clip.

My guess is that it may be valued at around 50 Euros in the German collector market.

thx jbuck :)
glad to be here!

@sel_69l:

Thanks for your reply :)
I'm sorry, my fault. I photographed the coin in my hand and in photoshop, to make the picture cleaner, I used cuted out the background, thats why a part of the edge of the coin is not visible, the coin is in full shape.

Is your price estimation different, when the edge is not broken?

@That Coin Dude:

Thanks for your reply. Do you mean the edge of the backside of the coin (upper picture, right)?

If yes, that is just a photoshop matter, the coin is whole.

What I mean as Error is the upper picture left, the front side. If you compare this one (the upper is my coin) to the picture below (which is just random from the internet), than you see that the amount in the coin (writen in persian, meaning "NIM", which is "HALF" in english) is unreadable due to too much silver material (like a few drops). What do you think about this, is this an error or just a damage?

Thanks and regards!
