This 1993 penny looks like a Close AM but when I put my flashlight on and took a photo and zoomed in it looks like the a and the m are not touching ,
Is this possible? Is this an error Or is it just a normal coin ?

The AM do not have to be touching for it to be a CAM.
To be a WAM, the A has to be centred between the A and M.
Please show the complete coin when making posts. In this case there
are two other markers to easily identify which it is.

"Wide AMs" aka Reverse Design Variety 006 (RDV-006) was made on cents from 1989-92. These were later used for the proof reverse dies all the way up to 2008 I believe.

I always look at the FG at the bottom right of the memorial. To me that is the deciding factor when determining wide or closed AM cents.

There we no wide hubs that year. All cents were Close AM cents that year, even proofs were close AMs.
