Hi everyone! I recently bought a bulk lot of wheat pennies off of ebay. They look to be mostly from the 40s and 50s. I'm going to look through them for errors and varieties. Though I do not believe there is such a thing as "unsearched" wheat pennies (these weren't advertised as unsearched anyway) - I do believe in "looking harder than most people." I'm going to document my progress in this thread! I'm excited to see what I'll find!

Good luck. If those are your 1000 coins then looks like somebody dropped an Indian cent in with the wheats!

After sorting by date and mintmark, I see there's a really nice mix! Every date/mintmark from 1940-1958 except 1942-S is present. Interesting stuff so far: 2 steel cents, both 1943 P (not pictured) 3 IHCs: 1900 (some corrosion), 1903, 1904 5 dates before 1940: 1911 P, 1919 P, 1924 P, and 2 1938 Ps. Excited to start looking deeper! Pictures: I also experimented with photography on the IHCs, and I'm pretty happy with how the photos turned out!

Hi everyone! I found a nice lamination coin as I was searching. I also found some minor varieties - I'll post those when I have more time to take pictures. Anyway, here's the lamination coin: P.S. Could a mod allow me to continually edit my original post? I'd like to update it with my finds every so often. Thanks!

I think it would be better if you were to just add a new post to this thread as you go. Reason being, as I read a thread, I'll usually 'jump to last post' then find where I last read a post and go forward. If this thread was ,say 25 pages long, I would have to keep going back to the beginning and scroll through an ever lengthening post the get to your new stuff.
Besides, new post add to your post count..

If I did edit the original post I would definitely still post new finds as a reply to the thread. You make good points Dearborn! Things are working fine as they are, so maybe it's best to leave them.
