So I am confident that I have a RPM here, but the reverse has an odd issue. First thing that came to mind was simply PMD caused by some type of tool, but then thought I would ask the forums if there would be anything in the minting process that cause this? Obverse does not have the same mark- just some edge flattening in the area. Thanks for your thoughts on this one.

Nice RPM! Given the flattening on the obverse, I am highly inclined to think that it is PMD, as a hit strong enough to make such a mark on the reverse would likely affect the obverse too. I'm interested to see what other forum members think.

Reverse looks like PMD and I am not seeing a RPM. What attribution number do you think the RPM is?

I was between the RPM-003 or RPM-008? Sure looks like there is something there to me. I will try with a different scope to see if I can get any different photos.

Placement of the mint mark is not the same as yours on neither of those. http://www.varietyvista.com/02b%20L...%201970S.htm

The damage pretty much cancels out any thing else. Even if it were a RPM. Most small events can turn a coin into a cull, because of damage. Even little things reduce the grades.
