Similar to an Italian coin I had posted here, https://goccf.com/t/38400 this type is normally over-struck on the 1903 2 centavos, with strong examples of the host coin being quite uncommon.

With a mintage of 274k, it seems to be undervalued in Krause.

That's very nice! I saw something right away in the photos, and it would be great to compare to the 2 cent.

Thanks Kurt, it's a double dated example as well. You can see "1903" behind the "C.R." on the denomination side. =)

These are not errors. They are intentional, government-authorized overstrikes.

That makes sense to me...I'll just keep this under our error/variety section.

Hi Mike, yes we discussed that these are not technically "errors" in this thread: https://goccf.com/t/39755

I still refer to them as errors just for the sake of keeping things simple. =)

The two showing through is really neat! Thanks for showing the overstrike, if you have more post 'em!

Numismat, do let me know if you come across any of those fantastic overstruck coins. Will be interested if they are reasonably priced.

Sure GX, I'll keep you posted. It's often hard to determine price with these types of items. I had 2 virtually identical of the Italian 20 cents, one sold for $6 and one for $27.
ebay is funny. =)
