So I have been trying to figure out how this could have happened
Could it have been a coin that was not ejected completely, struck by the die and transferred the impression to die. Then completely cleared and next coin struck.this would explain why the P is not tilted.
That also explains the fact that it is raised.
Can't wait for some more opinions myself, although I'm not suggesting a RPM.
Very nice theory, how ever that would be a depression and this is slightly raised. And there is other Mark's elsewhere
On the coin.
Trouble is my pics. To be honest looks best with the naked eye.

That is a second P faint as it may be.
Now if this happened the way I mentioned. You have to know that a coin is no match for a tool steel die, it's not
Going to leave much of an impression and will fade the more it strikes coins.
Well how interesting.
Intentional damage by someone fooling around, question mark.
I know what it is I can see it clearly here.
I was hoping to have a discussion on how it could have happened. Well to answer your question about weather I intentionally damaged the coin in an attempt to deceive you,
The answer is no. Coin is in great shape.
I thought that in forum description was discussion.
I seem to be talking to myself. I appreciate that.

Ok so I can only assume that no one has ever seen a coin with this type of minting damage. So I have to assume no one ca say.i don't want to sell it or even know what it could be worth. I deal in Diamonds not pocket change. Sorry to bother anybody. I did take offense to the insinuation that I am Dishonest. You all be nice in here and have a good one.
Thanks for all Your help Coop. You the man.
Oh ya I have never asked what's a coin worth I just don't care.
So why would I try to deceive any one?
It was all about the knowledge. And I couldn't get anyone to talk to me, that's a shame.

@mrt, I can definitely see what you are talking about, but by 2020 RPMs are simply no longer possible as the mintmarks are no longer added by hand. As to what it is, expect for damage plus Pareidolia, I have no idea of a reasonable explanation. I'm interested to see what others think.

All of the devices look standard. Although it looks very similar to the "P" mark nothing else has changed on the coin. I'm leaning toward a dropped die filing or something struck through. I'm no expert.

I'm agreeing with Spence on this one, that it looks like a hit of some sort, so mark it up to PMD. Intentional damage by someone fooling around? It could be anything, who knows?

Ok slow down tiger. I am just seeing your post as I am typing.
It appears to me you posted a topic, and raised a question.
Then you responded to your original post with more pics and further description of your question. Albeit challenging the responses you have not received yet.
Followed up with a third post discrediting everyone on this forum for their inability to respond to your post in a proper time with the answer you already had to your question.

Maybe it is just me, but I felt you were probably going to be combative with any responses you were to receive. So my first thought was to skip past your post to avoid the challenges I would inevitably would have faced with my thoughts on your coin.

But then I thought maybe you are unaware of how your postings may be received by other forum members. So I thought I would chime in.

I believe for the most part that our forum members come here to share their educated and learned opinions to anyone who has an interest in this awesome hobby. And in doing so this hobby will continue to thrive.

For the most part questions are asked. Pictures are posted. and discussion flows.
Occasionally, this simple process fails. Either from a lack of adequate pics, or by misunderstanding of question, or other possibilities.
That being said, the number one reason for a lack of responses and discussion on a new topic is believing that no answer, or opinion will be accepted by the poster regardless of their experience.
In my opinion your original post/s fell in this category. Any response would most likely be challenged as soon as you receive them. The process can be exhausting.

First of all, MrThom, allow me to start my response with a simple I don't know.

I do see what you're seeing. However, I don't know why. There could be many reasons for that.
It could be lighting.
It could be an accurate visual.
It could be my imagination formed by a precursor of suggestion.

I don't know. Personally, I don't think or believe it was part of the minting process, but, again, I don't know. I could be 100% wrong...and I accept that.

That's the problem with only interpreting pictures. I (We) don't have the actual coin in hand to see all the nooks and crannies, myself. I don't have the ability to put it under my microscope, to rotate it to change lighting and shadows, or to even test the visual effects when looking at it close up, or far off. Sending it off for attribution will put that coin in someone's hand for the spatial and lighting manipulation to verify it's accuracy. However, it also, puts that coin in someone's hand for its debunking as well (I am NOT implying intention). But, regardless of the outcome, it actually gives that coin in a trained and qualified hand to make that determination, instead of just relying upon pictures.

I do believe that you see it, because I see it, too.

Whereas, it may be something, you have to determine if it is worth your time and cost to have it confirmed, or debunked. If it is something, I don't think it would be the next high dollar anomaly. But, you are ultimately the one who needs to determine it's ROI and if you're willing to take that chance.

Personally, I wouldn't. But then again, as I said, I could be way out in Left Field.

Very nice intelligent reply.
Appreciate that.
Qualifies as healthy debate.
I believe my debate was confused with combative. And as it was stated I was not going to get a reply anyway.
And whether or not it is worth anything or not I do beleave I am going to put it in the hands of PCGS to see one way or the other.
It goes without saying that I AM man enough to post the outcome even if I'm mistaken.
