@jack, first welcome to CCF. Second, I've moved your post over to the area of CCF where folks can best answer your question.

Unfortunately, the most it is worth is 25 cents. It looks like it was intentionally damaged by sanding or grinding.

Given the photos posted, I agree--appears to be a victim of abrasion. New, less washed out photos could help narrow things down.

Yup looks like buffed down with either a belt sander with fine paper or something else, still evaluate it more closely because to remove that much metal and not leave some sort of marks from the removal is hard to imagine, but I can see it was done from a couple different directions . Hey good job posting your pics, I am new also and it has been a challenge to me. Welcome. I can tell you this much, if you go to the bank and get $100 in quarters you wont be disappointed as l;one as you have a good magnifier and a digital microscope wouldn't hurt as I have found out. Welcome

I did get this roll of quarters from the bank. I'll give it to some expert to evaluate it. Thanks everyone.

Intentional post mint damage ( PMD), It didn't leave the mint looking this way. If in doubt, take it to your local coin shop for their assessment.
