Took a chance in an online auction with this one. Thought the 1 had the bar sticking out and fortunately it was the case. It does have some verdigris and I don't have VerdiCare. What is the best way to conserve this? Olive oil and a q-tip? Leave it overnight in olive oil? Sodium carbonate (also called soda ash) and sodium bicarbonate (Baking Soda) mix in water? Read a lot on this site and others without a clear answer.

I'd say just an acetone soak and then leave it alone.

And don't be affraid to leave her in there over night...a little toothpick picking after she soaked while in there...just watch out for the vapors...a little fan and a window open helps.
Nice pick up!

Thanks for the feedback. I acetone soak my silver coins when I first bring them home. I thought I read that it could be detrimental to copper.

Possibly but you would have to leave it in the Acetone for 500 years to see if that is true.
