1944 D Mercury With Double Date

Hi All,

I have this 1944 D mercury with a date that is doubled, is this Machine Doubled or is this a variety that's an actual error? The over all coin looks to be in MS Shape and is FSB. thanks for your help.

That shelf-like doubling looks like MD to me; however, this is an above average example.
