Hi Y'all,
This one is definitely not a drill, no scratches in the holes and the image can faintly be seen. The holes are perfect circles and caused small cracks. To do this with a hand tool would be very hard without scratching and a BB wouldn't have the velocity to cause hairline cracks. Is there anything in the striking process that could cause this?

We try to limit postings to one coin per thread (makes it easier for us to know what coin we're commenting on). Perhaps a mod will be so kind as to move your post to a thread of it's own.

Ytee64,
Best to start your own thread. Your coin is not a mint error, it is PMD. Only one person really knows how it was done for sure. Maybe someone put BB's on the coin and then put it in a vise?

You'd be surprised how much intentional damage you find on nickels once you start collecting. I guess the nickel just makes better a better target than anything you might buy with it.

Someone trying to create a mint error. When they realized they failed. What to do? Spend it. You found it. PSD Not a mint error.

Not seeing hairline cracks, just circulation damage around the indentations
