I have a 1977-D lincolin Memorial penny I graded it my self at a MS 68 red using PCGS coine grading services and looked up the price using there price guide come to find out it possibly worth 7,000 dollars in its curent state one step down on the grading scale the cent had corrosion on it mine does not just micro scratches bc it was in a coffie can full of pennies and cents soo.... the bases of this is I would like to know if I should have this coin pro graded put in its own little case for later selling or to put back into my collection

Sorry but this is nowhere close to MS68. That would grade AU, not even MS

With the photos, I'm seeing a lightly circulated '77 D cent--some very light wear on obverse high points, a few light dings/hits on obverse and reverse. Nice coin. At this point I'd go with low(er) MS range, perhaps MS62+.

Sorry, but no where near MS68 or red for that matter. Mid AU at best and red/brown.

This is not an MS coin and the best I would go is AU55. Your view of MS68 is not possible and you would be throwing money out the window to attempt certification.

It's worth face value - 1 cent - albeit an attractive roll found example from many years ago.

I'd say no higher than AU-58.

Looking AU RB to me, too. You might want to go back to PhotoGrade in PCGS and see how smooth the field is (no nicks) and how little wear is on the coin high points.

Keep trying and learning!

Stay well,

I'm at AU-58 as well, but that's just a hunch. OP would get more worthwhile replies if he would learn to crop, enlarge and focus his pics with light on the surfaces.

You don't really need a magnifier more than 10x for grading. You can buy a clip on magnifier from Walmart or ebay real cheap.

Signs of light wear, AU-58.
