I have several Morgans I have not looked at in years, but just had a chance to start looking at them a bit closer. In this case, I am wondering if the edges around several of the letters on the reverse are typical or actually of any value. Thanks very much for your thoughts!
I will tell you first off that 1921 is not the date to begin VAMming Morgan dollars. Now, I can tell you the coin you posted is a D2 reverse type with minor reverse doubling and I'll suggest looking at VAM-46 as a similar example. Most 1921-P VAMs are not value added and this is also true with the complete Morgan and Peace dollar series. Here is the link to the D2 listings but I'll warn you it is over-whelming http://www.vamworld.com/wiki/1921_P...Reverse_Page You seem to have the eye it takes to be a VAMmer and your images are excellent. Keep looking at your Morgans and keep posting here.
Wow! That is a lot to wrap my brain around. Very insightful responses too. I'm going to have to focus a bit to figure out all the info. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond!
What Dave said... 21-P Morgans are a good place NOT to start!! Way too many listings. Also very difficult are; 78-P 7TF, 78-S. VAMworld is an very good resource.
