Republic sank in 1865, and its subsequent salvage and treasure recovery has redefined the numismatic scene for middle 19th century coinage issues. This piece is a lovely green-gold example with considerable luster over lightly abraded surfaces. No evidence of sea damage is found on these various treasure coins.
