I doubt its a coin even though it says coin on it.Its not a peace medal which were commen through all presidents from Adams right through to GW.

These Chaps are shown wearing presidential peace medals.

It is definitely not a coin since it is not denominated and not issued by a government. It is a more of a medal or token, certainly privately made. There are several types of Presidential medals around, bronze medal sets have been produced by the US Mint over the years and Shell Oil had a long running promotion at their stations involving yellow brass tokens, but I have never seen this design before

It looks as though it's some sort of premium for purchase, but I don't know who was giving these away. Note that the tails side says "President 23" as if it was meant to be directions where to put this on some sort of cardboard plaque.

That would be my guess, anyway.

I've seen these in the Red Book token guide. I'm pretty sure they were issued by Shell oilo Company but I don't remember when or what they're worth.

Actually, after doing some searching for something else, I remembered they were made by Cracker Jack (I'm about 99% sure of this). I know they're in the Red Book but I don't have one handy.
