this coin is huge, brass I think but maybe bronze. Its about 3-4 ml thick. I only have this pic I have attached. Just some help to narrow down its origin would be great! Anyone who knows anything!

yes it does have some strange symbols and writing on the other side but I want to start with information from this side first and then see if it can help me with my detective work. I need to make a start somewhere if I can just get some starting point. thanks ppls!

I don't know what this is. However, some of the coins from the Himalayan area (Nepal,Indian princely states, etc) have a checkerboard like pattern somewhat similar to that in the picture.
Not much to go on, but all I can come up with.
Good luck

The script around the outside is Arabic or Persian. Very few Islamic coins were this large and few were made of brass, so I suspect it's not a coin. With 12 squares, I think it might be a calendar medal of some kind. We're still waiting for pics of the other side.

I didn't make an additional reply to this thread earlier, because I don't really know for sure what it is. However, it looks very similar to Islamic charm-medals from Southeast Asia. Related to the "temple tokens" of India, the Southeast Asian ones are often about this size, made of brass, and have very similar crudely depicted lettering. I think the object on the other side is meant to be a walking stick, such as might be used by a pilgrim going to Mecca. See this page on zeno.ru for similar items.
