Has all the die markings and possibly looks eds, but any opinions?
Many of the ones in CoinFacts do not show any of the full-on gouge yet either, so wonder if this would pass or not.

It is definitely the EDS VAM-1AB1 not sure if there is enough of a break to qualify for 1AB2 the actual extra hair listing.http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.c...3-P_VAM-1AB1

You're probably right about that, Dave. I was also wondering about the clashing going on with this piece. If it's the earlier die state, why wouldn't the clashing be visible on the 1AB, the supposed later die stage of this coin?
Rest in Peace

I'm really not seeing the usual signs of a clash event on this coin. Typically there is a good transfer of the neck line off the eagles' right shoulder so if it is clashed the light remnants could have worn off the dies from normal use.

There are two incused worms, one above the O in DOLLAR and one between the leaves. There is also a tiny one tucked under the Liberty's chin line where the neck meets. A less prominent one going above the eagle's tail feathers hard to see from this picture.
I guess the dies get hammered so much after the initial clash that they won't be visible during the formation of 1AB's "extra hair"?

I find that hard to believe because the die cracks and bevelled edge known to this VAM aren't really altered at all.
