I don't think so. If that coin were weighed you would find it to be underweight. It is struck on a tapered planchet, and is a nice example of such. I don't know error values, but this is definitely worth far more than a Grease Filled Die strike, which would still have complete rims - and this one doesn't.

hello, guess it pays to look. Almost threw it away. other forum says the same(struck on tapered planchet). Cool!! gotta love pocket goodies. lol. Thanks for the input on this one.

cool nice coin..it looks like wear to me so how do u tell if its not? sorry for my ignorance I'm new here and have collection of coins but know nothing about them :P

On this particular coin the rims are full height, and the Lettering that would be next to the rim is missing.

which in simple terms means something else happened to cause those letters not to be there.
