i recently got two rolls of the new martin van buren - dollar coins at my bank. I read on this forum that there is a "P" mint mark that has a - shortened "leg" on the P. I found three of them in the first roll. are these error coins and is there any premium value on them? thanks

Here is a link to an article by Ken Potter. Since the MVB dollars were just released a month ago(Nov 13) it is too soon to say that they are rare or have a premium but I believe that you are at least the third person here to mention finding these coins so take that for what it may be...

Just a chipped edge die. Since the letters on the die are raised if they chip off there is nothing to create the imprint in the edge of the coin. In this case the lep of the P chipped off.
Rest in Peace

I have 20 MVB Dollars laying on my desk top.

A quick check shows nothing unusual.
