Well judging by Her Majesty's Commonwealth Day Speech I suspect they will be minting a coin for 100 years. If I were Charles I wouldn't dwell too much on the idea of being King.

Of course they are, they mint a mountain of coins every 5 years since she turned 60 and the same with Queen mother and every other Royal.

Then you get the Commonwealth countries like Antigua, Ghana, St Vincent and all these other places popping out "Wallpaper coins" that will never rise above bullion value.

Even worse is the amount of wallpaper and junk stamps that will emerge from every Commonwealth and several non C'wealth nations on earth. In general Royalty themed topics are poison as they never gain value. Even Coronation stuff you can't give away and the wallpaper coin and stamp craze of the 1977 Silver Jubilee is still worthless.

No disrespect to her Majesty - but I steer well clear of any royal themed stuff.

This gold coin will likely be sold at 2x or more its bullion value and they will play up the rareness and exculsivety factor - but there will be NO resale market for it ever.

Plus with all the recent revelations, the Royals are losing further popularity since that interview.
